A very different experience seeing War Horse at Hardwick Hall as part of the Derby Quad Summer Nights Film Festival. It was cold and wet but that didn't seem to phase anyone, there lots of experienced troopers with tables and tablecloths and candles. found the film rather sentimental and wonder did horses pulling artillery really wear saddles and bridles as well as harnesses?
